Bhaktapur, Mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality Madan Sundar Shrestha has been assaulted by two persons at around 6:00 this evening.  Mayor Shrestha has sustained injuries to his leg, hands and head after the persons called his name before attacking him with the iron rods.

Two unidentified persons had called him when the mayor was entering into his house and was immediately attacked by the crooks, he shared. Mayor Shrestha is receiving treatment at Madhyapur Thimi Hospital.

After the attack, Mayor Shrestha managed to escape the incident by hiding in a nearby mobile phone shop.  Likewise, the attackers have also caused damage to Mayor Shrestha’s vehicle Ba 8 cha 8720.  After the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Thimi Prajjwal Maharjan said that a search for the attackers is on.
