Pyuthan, March 24: At least six persons died and three others were critically injured when a Scorpio jeep (Ba 8 Cha 1561) heading to Sworgadwari, a popular pilgrimage site, met with accident this morning. The identities of the deceased including five female and one male have yet to be ascertained.
The accident took place when the jeep carrying pilgrims from Kathmandu veered some 700 metres off the road at Rumale nearby Sworgadwari.
The jeep was carrying nine passengers including a driver, informed Chief District Officer Yadunath Poudel.
Two female and a driver sustained critical injuries in the accident. The injured are undergoing treatment at primary health post in Bhingri, said Tek Prasad Bhandari, a local, who reached the site after the accident.
Different teams of Chief District Officer, Police Chief and civil society have also reached the site. The rescue is being undertaken by police teams and locals. RSS (File Photo)
