Senior litterateur Daibagya Neupane passed away at the age of 64 on Saturday.
Long suffering from sugar, pressure and eye disease, Neupane was admitted to Civil Service Hospital at Minbhawan Friday after suffering from pneumonia and passed away at 7:40 this morning.
Born in Dhaipa of Gogane -1 of Bhojpur district, Neupane has in his credit ‘jormurali’, ‘sirjanako lahar’, ‘toteboli’ and one and half dozen of poetry, songs and criticism and has edited various books.
Starting teaching from Bhaktapur Campus, Neupane had taken the responsibility of Assistant Campus Chief at Patan Multiple Campus ten years ago and was teaching in Tribhuwan University lately, said his brother Kedar Neupane, also a professor in TU.
Neupane was the first to receive the Moti Youth Award and was received civic honor from the president two years ago, and was honored with about 30-35 awards from various organisations.
Neupane, who had studied upto masters level along with the Sahitya Ratna, has been regarded as an effective creator in Nepali literature. He is survived by his wife Sudha Neupane, three sons and one daughter.RSS
